Authentic New York Style Pizza
Price: around $7/person. We got garlic knots, ½ stromboli & 2 slices cheese pizza with 2 drinks for $14 total.
Food:The stromboli was great. My husband really liked the New York style pizza. The garlic knot appetizers were addicting.
Atmosphere:Little restaurant with small tables, situated in the Riverwalk area. We went in ‘off-season,’ so it was pretty dead. You can take your food with you and walk a short distance to the water for some good people watching.
Service:The owner (cute older man) was a bit ‘spicy’ with some NY attitude. The diet coke wasn’t flowing well, and he told me to get something different next time–in a sarcastically joking way.
Tidbits:Paid parking. There are some garages in the area, or meters. The water taxi stops near this restaurant.

Aaron Carter knows his pizza & cheesesteak!?
Price: Dinner for two: Cheesesteak sand w/fries & drink, 2 slice cheese pizza with drink – $13. They also have coupons and specials—ask at the counter. Coupon on their site & full menu.
Food: SUPERB cheesesteak sandwich. The first time I had it, it was fabulous. Second time just so-so. It was the end of the day, so I think I got the ‘bottom of the barrel.’ Pizza is NY style, pretty good according to my husband.
Atmosphere: Great small diner atmosphere, quiet. We only went there in the evenings. Apparently this place is ridiculously packed at lunch–they said their target customer is the business crowd (super-busy during the lunch hour M-F). Not a large area for dining if crowded, but evenings are great. Has smaller cafe-like feel. In the City Park Mall. Adjacent to area with MANY homeless. While there are lots of cops in the downtown area, I would advise not to have valuables visible in your car. I haven’t had any problems either at this restaurant or at the library across the street, but I have been concerned.
Service: GREAT service. Super-nice guys working behind the counter. They’ve all been very chatty and incredibly interesting! One guy was a limo driver to the stars for years & has loads of stories.
Tidbits: Owned by Aaron Carter. Metered parking. Free Wi-Fi.
