See sunrise & sunset on the same day
I would like to make a whole day of it: enjoying restaurants and “touristy” things along the way. Driving across the everglades would only add to the fun.
Butterfly World
I’ve only heard great things about this place. General admission: Adults and Seniors $24.95, Children $19.95 (ages 3-11), 2 and under are FREE. Annual passes available, and sometimes they have group discounts. Coupon for $3 off admission available on their website.
All Fish Emporium
A friend suggested this place to me. It boasts being the “largest aquarium retail store in North America.” While they do sell fish and other critters, they have an incredible display of salt & freshwater creatures. On Thursdays at 7pm, you can watch the shark feedings. They also have free guided tours for groups (appointment needed). All completely free. Visit the website
Fort Lauderdale Boat Show
I missed it this year, and am certainly going in 2011! Largest boat show in the world, Oct 27-31 2011. Visit the website
